So Sarah's missing brother has been determined to be dead.

That's all her mom and other brother have posted on Facebook. So that's all I'm gonna say for now.

I asked for a shrink to come in and talk to Sarah but I talked to the shrink first and told her everything about her brother. Then after she talked to Sarah, we went back out in the hallway and told me I'm 100% correct with my decision not to tell her anything about Zach because the stress would be detrimental to the healing process. Even though she wasn't close to that brother.

Her parents are completely devastated and I don't know if they fully understand why they can't tell her, but I spoke with her sister and her other brother and they both agree with me & the shrink. They'll talk with their parents.

They're all good people in that family. They don't need this shit.

Every time Sarah falls asleep I go outside and walk laps around the building just trying to de-stress.

People find out about dead family members months late all the time.

People often choose not to inform deployed military about family tragedies until they get home, for example. It let's them stay focused on the dangers they're in. Sarah needs to be focused on her rehabilitation.

I'm going to be taking her phone home with me tonight in case her mom gets stupid.

He's been a constant source of stress for Sarah's parents.

He originally lived up around Joliet but he went down south about ten years ago running and hiding when a Joliet biker clubs called "Black Pistons" had a hit out on him.
He's been taking off for days at a time on meth and coke benders, stealing from his parents for stuff to pawn for drug money.
He's cost them tens of thousands of dollars for lawyers when he's been busted and locked up for meth possession.
Always hooking up with white trash meth head women and bringing them home.
He got a settlement from some lawsuit against Home Depot after a big spool of rope fell on his neck.
He blew all that money on multiple diesel pickups, a house, two or three Harleys and a tractor, and drug binges and ended up losing everything except one Harley which his dad sort of confiscated in partial repayment for lawyer fees.
He got ****ed up on drugs and used that tractor to tear up all the landscaping on his dad's 40 acre getaway property thinking he was going to dig a pond and build a pole barn right before he pissed away the last of his settlement money partying with his junky friends.

He then moved in to the 24 x 24 cabin his dad & uncle built on the property and he & his white trash girlfriend trashed the place & left garbage everywhere.

He punched his mom in the face a few years ago and I had to haul ass up to Romeoville (40 miles) to calm Sarah's good brother down and keep him from going down there and doing something stupid. The good brother has a wife and kids. Doesn't need a rap sheet. He's the current owner of the aforementioned Harley.

Zach has been in actual prison twice for drugs. Once in Missouri and once in Illinois.

Ten years ago he was in County lockup in Joliet in protective custody when he rattled out the bikers he was with when they stole a dump truck with a trailer and backhoe. When he was released I was the only one with the balls to go pick him up and drive all around Joliet randomly to make sure we weren't followed, then take him to where he had hidden his SUV from the repo man so he could flee to southern Illinois.

Zach has had cops pounding on the door of his parents house late at night when he violated his parole.

He's had drug dealers banging on his parents house at all hours of the night.

And most recently I guess after he was already dead, he had his poor old dad driving around talking to all the junkies and drug dealers (armed but alone) in the county trying to conduct his own investigation until finally the state police took over the case from the useless county sheriff office and they finally convinced him to stay the **** home before he ends up missing too.

So I don't know.

They're devastated, but they'll slowly heal. And no more constant worry & stress over what kind of trouble he'll get into next.

It sucks that it came to this but pretty much everyone predicted it because of the type of scumbags he associates with.

Wow that is a damned shame! God damned drugs man!

I got some strange looks from people walking by because I said something like "so did he remember where he dumped the body?" so I ended up going all the way outside and had to walk quite a ways to get away from the noise so I could hear him.

Then a total of 8 police cars showed up and now the whole hospital is on lockdown and I can't get back in.

Probably another drugged up nutcase in the ER.

After physical therapy, Sarah didn't want to go back to the room because "it's too boring".

So I pushed her wheelchair downstairs to the lobby to where this old guy always plays elevator music on the piano and I asked him if he knew "Right Now" by Van Halen.

He didn't even know what that was (because he's REALLY old) but he played "Let it be" by the Beatles with one hand on the piano part and then he followed the vocal line with the synthesizer part on top with his other hand. Sarah liked that.

Then we went to the cafeteria and swiped some salt packets for her food because they never give her any. She's on a low cholesterol restriction but not a salt restriction.

When we got back to the room like 30 minutes late, Nurse Crabass was crabby.

It would have been freaking awesome if dude knew right now by Van Halen! I think that is one of their best songs or videos at least. It's one of my favorites!
