Motor Carrier EC's Going For It

Get the alignment checked before you dump a million bajillion dollars on new steers.

I'd remove the wet kit entirely if I was just gonna be pulling trailers with it. I mean I'd have a shop do it.

No big deal though. Just less leaky stuff for a DOT cop to harass you with. They're going to be extra busy harassing white people now that it's illegal for them to do anything else.
Well if I drain the tank or lose it all out before DOT gets to me then there won't be a leak anymore. Then I can fix or remove it at my leisure.

Did you bother to pull an oil sample on this thing?
Nope. It doesn't smell like anything and it's black. The truck doesn't smoke and there's nothing in the coolant except coolant.

I'm not actually worried about that aspect.

Besides, an oil sample would cost more than the truck.

It starts runs shifts and idles good. I've had it up to I think 70 with no real issues other than the shaking. I'm just being cautiously pessimistic and hope they weren't actively hiding anything.

Another small step forward. Radio lights up and if you shine a flashlight onto the display you can see it lock onto a station. But no sound. Pulled the overhead console down. Wires look okay. Confirmed colors going into doors. They look okay. Pulled the door panels off and the speakers are absolutely trashed. Removed the right side, hooked the wires to a wrong size speaker...sound! Awesome! Left side...sound! Sweet! Hopped onto Crutchfield and ordered some waterproof speakers that should actually fit the hole. Should be $90 well spent.

The radio is the original Ford like you'd see in Aerostars, Tauruses, Rangers, etc from the day. The OE harness is still intact. Nobody bastardized it. That means when I decide to upgrade the head unit, installation will be plug & play. And I will eventually. I want one with Bluetooth and maybe Sirius built in so I don't have to have a million things plugged into the cigarette lighter.

Here's what's going:
