Ok so I have a squeak coming from a pulley somewhere.
We all know that’s only gonna go one way, and that’s south.
So two questions. I’ve never done the water pump, and that sort of feels like the problem. I can’t hear noise or hear a problem with other parts.
A water pump could leave me stranded, I’m not sure that’s a roadside repair I can tackle.
Now, A/C pulleys are in the same vicinity as the squeak. I can spin them by hand and don’t hear or feel a noise.
Both idler and tensioner are +/- 2 years old, and the belt.
I’m okay having the new parts ride as spares, but I don’t know if I should push the service life on the old parts.
So, replace the water pump because that’s a part that can leave me stranded, but let the A/C parts ride because that’s an easy fix and not a huge deal to replace?
I don’t know
