Knives

I've carried pocket knives since forever. I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't. For years, I' e carried the Gerber ones. When I was a kid Gerber was THE brand. Now it seems they're cheap crap and don't last long since they're now sold in stores and are not catalog order only.

Anyway, this week I stopped at that Case Knives Outlet in Lebanon, MO, and spent way too much money. I bought a new pocket knife for myself, one for the wife, and a new set of kitchen knives.

This is the pocket knife I bought, minus the Boy Scout emblem. It's a Buck, and I've never had a Buck pocket knife before so I'm interested to see how this one holds up in normal use. It has a pocket knife clip on the other side, which is not shown. I've had a few of the little Case jackknives and I like those too but I wanted to try a Buck pocket knife. I used to have a Buck 119 but it was confiscated during a barracks inspection when I was in MOS school and I never got it back. I liked that knife. It was hardened 440 steel and held an edge real well. Sharpening it could be tough though.

This pocket knife I bought is listed on the site for $55.00, the box from the store has a $65.00 tag on it, with a sale price tag of $47.99.

Anyway, if you're ever through Missouri on I44, Id recommend stopping at exit 127 and checking this place out. There's a Waffle House with limited truck parking for access, in case you want to nuke your colon. There's also a full service truck stop across the street.

Case Knives also says this knife went to the moon and back. Or ones like it anyway. I don't know if that's true or not but they've limited production to 250 of them.

There's one sitting in that outlet.

Probably. I’ve never checked.
I didn't either. I could've just totally slandered a company. 😁

I doubt it though. The Made In China label is the #1 cause of quality decline in manufacturing. 🙄

Always liked fixed blade Buck knives for hunting. Well, for skinning/cleaning after the hunting part. Hold their edge very well.

I currently carry a Winchester year 2007
but I have 5 or 6 more , mose different brands
old timers and cases have always been my favs
