Gas station fuel cheaper than truck stop fuel?

And it's still illegal to pump it into a commercial tractor operating under IFTA rules. BTW, there's more to it than just sharing taxes collected. Try looking up IFTA fuel audit, and penalties.

Go warm your brain up. The cold has you addled.
I don't think you understand.

I'm not saying never pay fuel tax ever. I'm saying write a damn check and send it to IFTA.

Don't know if it still goes on, but the used to a couple reservation stations in NY along the Southern Tier that sold diesel really cheap. It also said plainly on the receipt that it was untaxed fuel, which meant it wasn't supposed to be reported on your IFTA filings, much like Oregon fuel.

The funniest part was how many guys were clueless that the base fuel price was still higher than it was at the normal station just down the road, which never had a line at the pumps.

I don’t remember where exactly, but there’s a poster in the drivers room warning of exactly that. There are a few locations that are untaxed and will not be reimbursed or something

I’m not trying to cheat IFTA or run dyed fuel.

I’m simply trying to figure out the cheapest place to get decent fuel.

When I mentioned to @Hillbilly Canuck about the discrepancy between gas stations and truck stops he said to make a thread on it. :dunno:

So you want to pay tax on retail fuel, and then write a check to IFTA on top of it.

BRILLIANT!

:coocoo:

@Hillbilly Canuck

So gas station fuel is $1.04-1.06 a litre around here.

Yet truck stop fuel is around $1.18-1.23 a litre.

On a 900 litre fill up, that’s a lot of mucking foney in savings.

So what gives? I’m farther ahead to pay with cash or card at that much price difference, instead of a fuel card

I did get an application for a local fuel companies fuel card, I’ll have to see how much they’re charging a litre

I dunno where you livin but around here thought Gas is going back north $3 bucks..

Kwik Pantry had regular $284.9 and Diesel was 299.9..

Though I gotta "steal"..

Welpthe Clark station coupla miles up the road was 2799 for gas n 2959 for diesel

He's also correct that regular station diesel isn't IFTA taxed. But that's because it's for private cars such as private pickups like my F250, VW Golfs, etc. It's not because it's off-road only. It has standard road taxes on it.

At the local fuel company I payed $1.03 per litre the first week and $1.05 per litre the second week. I figure that’s about the best Im gonna do.

At the very least I can control how much I’m paying.

Only downside is now I’m covering fuel costs ahead of getting paid.

the local fuel stations are not IFTA taxed like the ones at choke and pukes are. whem me and the wife went camping:rolleyes-80:. i would go into a choke and puke and ask them for a discount on fuel since we were not a CMV
