This wrecker claimed some things on his invoice that were not true. The troopers dispatched him and won't do anything about it. Look at what he did.
you get into an accident, a wrecker is called, you pay the bill......da end of the story. Geez.Well, at least you admitted that you only watched about a minute of it. Now, BEFORE you speak again, you might want to know a little more about what is in the video so that you can formulate a coherent response. The towing company said that he had to lift the trailer off of the Durango which he said was JAMMED under the rear of the trailer. He charged for this service. He did not perform this service. He also said that he used air bags to lift the trailer. He did not own or use air bags and again, did not have to lift the trailer. So, hopefully, you understand that the problem is not the rate or the towers job but that he claimed to do things that he did not do just so that he could inflate his bill. Geeez
i will...I couldn't imagine a thought process like that , then I looked at 4 pages of your comments and realized that your presence here serves no real useful purpose other than to amuse yourself. You almost got me. have a good day.

i was once told i needed rotator surgery......Ever priced out a rotator?
It's not the rate, it's the fraud he's complaining about.i will...
you have to accept the fact, the highways MUST be cleaned up ASAP. that takes time and money. if YOU DON'T LIKE the costs of a wrecker, then do not wreck, do not break down.
Yes, as a matter of fact. $475,000 to $680,000 depending on the spec. They are NOT cheap. I do know this. I understand that this guy needs to pay his bills but if it was simply a rear end collision that required nothing more than a medium duty wrecker at minimum (20 Ton), to tow it away and clean up the debris and he sent in a rotator and two other trucks, just because he has bills to pay, it is wrong. Most tow companies with a rotator charge based on what they use. For example, if it is a simple hook, $450 - $700. Winch out with riggers down, a little more. Stabilizers out and boom turned, full price. To send your biggese and charge full price? It's not right. Then to lie about it to add other items??? The hood could have been strapped back on. I have see plenty of other tow companies do this but that wasn't the biggest issue. This guy seemed to have a problem with the lying about services that were charged.Ever priced out a rotator?
it's been going on for years, what (some) of the wrecker companies do. the are on a "police tow list". the police call them in order per call. It's not the rate, it's the fraud he's complaining about.
Did you wake up illiterate today? Or do you actually think wrecker companies should be able to rip people off?
Well, that's not the way the world works. Also, you are wrong about the police having no authority to do anything about it. Michigan State Police got so sick of it, especially when they ended up with egg on their faces after a bad price gouging pile up that they did not wait for the politicians. They told all heavy wrecker services to submit their rates for their equipment. Those rates were not forced or coerced but they are now recorded and when challenged, better be consistent. They did a great job and it works. This way, if 10 people wreck, they can all guarantee the same rate instead of being taken advantage of.it's been going on for years, what (some) of the wrecker companies do. the are on a "police tow list". the police call them in order per call.
the police cannot do anything about the charges each company gets for thier work.
cops call and say a "big truck needs a tow", company hears big truck, sends out the BIG wrecker, what, you want a dinky wrecker to come out, its the wrong one, then they send out the big one? all that time, costs money.
just do not wreck or break down, or get stuck in the mud, sand, snow.

Watch this story: WXYZ - Ridiculous Tow Charges
The tow company for charging for services not provided.who's ultimately at fault here..??
no...the state for having only one contractor, someone who is "politically connected"...The tow company for charging for services not provided.
Duhh...
Doesn't change the fact the wrecker company should be shut down, sued out of existence, and it's employee(s) sent to jail for fraud.no...the state for having only one contractor, someone who is "politically connected"...
and no "over sight committee" to watch over..
if any wrong doing was taking place, they will get a slap on the wrist, and told to be good boys.Doesn't change the fact the wrecker company should be shut down, sued out of existence, and it's employee(s) sent to jail for fraud.
First things first, destroy the wrecker company. Then expose and destroy the politicians and bureaucrats that interfere with the free market.
Some states have already cleaned up their illegal tow truck rackets set up by bribed police captains.
