Changes at Celadon

Just an advance warning, Celadon is now requiring all school graduates too run team for 240'000 miles to pay for school before you can run solo. The pay had been raised to .18 cpm though with a .03 cpm bonus for each driver once they reach 7500 miles each month. That bonus is paid on all miles accrued for that month. So the money is pretty decent at .36 to.39 cpm starting off.

if hes talking to me his numbers are way off more like 55-60 hours a week would put me in the ball park of 1050 to 1180 a week to yank a box around from 1360 to1530 a week is crazy he is out of his mind at that those numbers hes gonna have to put on close to 170000 miles and his codriver aint happenen capitain

When I started doing OTR in 89 the retired guy that started me out told me to basically split the revenue 3 ways, like if you had a driver.
1/3 for the truck. M&R, replacement, etc.
1/3 for the company (owner).
1/3 for the driver. He said to just base your loads on getting 1/3 of the revenue in pocket as if it were wages.
He said to just go on the 'wages' if you couldn't wrap your mind around a certain route and if you decided you'd be making good wages you'll be alright.

I never did it just like that but I've plugged that approach in to my operation at various times...
just because you can't really get away from the early lessons,
and that woulda probably been a good way to go for several years.
not lately though.
