TICKETS AND FINES

for 3 drivers in the Chicago area.....

"Three truckers ticketed near Chicago

CHICAGO — Three truck drivers are accused of impeding traffic on a major interstate near Chicago — apparently as part of a protest of high fuel prices by truckers nationwide.

An Illinois State Police spokesman says the trucks blocked the three lanes on I-55 near Chicago by driving three abreast and slowing down. Master Sergeant Luis Gutierrez says the drivers were ticketed for impeding traffic".

can you say a pair of big ones?? and there was a lot more than three involved I don't know how many were issued tickets but remember this in this country you are innocent until proven guilty and they will have their day in court, just because a few cops gave them a ticket doesn't trying to intimidate them means nothing who knows YOU might even benefit from their sacrifices , I swear with your anti driving attitude you have got to be a broker that sees his gravy train about to leave you into the dust, youhave not had one thing positive to offer to fix this mess!!!

Well Ive been shut down Monday and Today (Tues) I dont live near the interstate, but hear the local gravel haulers on the highway. I guess the answer is to drive just over the minimum speed limit, not much they can do about that. Got some media attention on TXCN news, I really dont see how this will help, it may get some peoples attention, but not in a good way. And how is it supposed to get rates up and fuel costs down? I'm hoping for the best, but pretty much expect that it will be bussines as usuall when I go back to work.

i wish i were a broker, then i'd be making more money than just driving...

as for sleep, i don't sleep much at all, never did in fact, anyone got a problem with my sleeping habits....??? i don't, i'm used to it.....

as for my job, i do quick shuttles from one warehouse to another, then some yard work. done in all of about 7 hours most days..........great job for me, as i've had it with the OTR crap..........you can have it.......

i don't see how i or anyone can benefit from someone else's insurance premium hike...........it may very well cause all insurance companies to add more insane rate hikes to us.

those drivers may have thier day in court, if they can AFFORD to be out of work (again) when that time comes, or they pay the fine.

my "positive thing i DO HAVE TO OFFER to fix this mess" is that there will be some nice used trucks on the market soon, as many o/o's will lose big time for shutting down....one more thing too, with those so-called convoys..... the drivers are complaining about high fuel costs.....yet they are burning fuel needlessly driving around in circles....??? or idling at the truckstops....????

isn't that kind of counter-active....??????

oh well.............

buying fuel will continue after this shutdown, whether it'll be gasoline, or diesel, and the prices won't go down......how many more shutdowns can o/o's really afford.............or sympathetic company drivers....??? there are only so many vacation days, you know.........

To Pro1

Man, it's the negativity of people like you that is the reason that none of the other shutdowns ever worked. You aren't even a real truckdriver......you're a damn yard jockey for Christ's sake. Instead of being so damn negative about everything, why the hell don't you try backing these guys up that are litterly fighting for their lives and their livelyhood. Maybe if you actually used all that energy in a positive manner and helped these guys fight all this bullshit you might help them WIN !! Give it a try man, or at least give it a break. We're all tired of hearing you whine and cry about nothing being worth it. Get A Life Man.:dunno:

No duh? Fuel always going to be bought. Its the fact that....nevermind, im not arguing with a sleep deprived Super Trucker. Ur nothing but Negative.

uh.....i'm not a yard jockey..........that is just an add on duty to my shuttles.....

been a "real truckdriver" for 20 years now, so don't even go there....you wanna drive OTR and be away for days, weeks, or even months at a time...?? then go ahead, be my guest..........oh yeah,. and i got a "life", and a mortgage, and kids in college, and bills......you got any of those yourself...??

i wish i was sleep deprived......then i'd be here even more hours......as it is now, sadly, only the few hours i put total here each week is all i can afford to do........:beep:

I believe the focus of this thread has been totally side tracked. IMO every trucker out there should be participating in the shutdown. Kids in college, mortgage....how the hell is that being paid when you can't even afford to roll down the road, unless of course you're a "company driver"

uh.....hmmm...........

i never said i was an o/o.......

so what i'm a company driver....so is "moose" (Bullwinkle) the owner of these boards.......

we all gotta work...............

and i'll be going to work soon, earn that big paycheck..........pay the bills.....
