Where we are as of today (08-09-2024)

The new website software has been installed, and the forum has been moved to a new folder. This is why some of you couldn't find the place until you either got a message, or seen the link set up on the temporary new homepage.

We also upgraded the forum software to the latest version of Xenforo, which is a significant upgrade. Before doing this, we eliminated most add-ons, most of which simply are not needed with the new software, or not needed due to the level of activity here currently.

Light/Dark/System versions are available for the forum theme. You will find an icon on the bottom left of the forum that will let you pick. The light bulb is now gone from the top as that was an add-on that is no longer needed.

Forum cleanup will be taking place in coming days/weeks/months, basically when I get around to it. This will be the removal of some content that could be hurting us with search engine performance.

For the new homepage/CMS, this is going to be my priority here for a while in addition to YouTube. You will see articles showing up there if you check it out. Some will be written by me, some of the content will be populated by others. All of this will be bringing more traffic to the website than we have seen in many years. What that will mean to potential forum growth will depend on the activity of the forum.

Maybe the new forum version will let Mike program it to automatically merge all of Birchys threads into one, exactly 3 hours after his last activity.

For a while, articles will be categorized strangely because I want to be sure and slowly add the categories and sub-categories properly.

Once it is all going well, and fully loaded with content, I will likely have a complete redesign done. Adding the content is the most important thing for the moment, though, because we have been without a homepage for a while now.

Still driving, nothing but crap loads from the house for this weekend, so getting more publishing done than expected.
