I did it once, actually. Boss was angry at first, then later he was laughing about it.When do company drivers get to negotiate rates, exactly?
Yeah, that's why the cell phone companies charge so much.Supply and Demand, Business goes to the one with the best Price and Service. That is the American way if you can deliver the good at a better price than the other guy, you should get the business. Any one with knowledge of business operation knows that. You have to keep overhead low and go the extra mile to satisfy the customers because. As the old saying goes the customers always right. IF YOU WANT TO SUCCEEDED IN ANY BUSINESS.
If the customer could get it at a lower cost they would and you would switch to the lower price Carrier if it had the same quaility wouldn't you.Yeah, that's why the cell phone companies charge so much.
They got together and decided that if they all fleece the customers, or buy out or squash anyone who doesn't, they can get away with it.
That's what we should do. If everyone decided to unite & adjust for the past 35 years of inflation, we'd make enough money we wouldn't have to spend 95% of our time on the road.
Company drivers are guilty in that they continue to fill seats for low paying companiesWhen do company drivers get to negotiate rates, exactly?

Is anyone of your families affected by your long hours on the road?
Sitting at the buffet bar complaining won't solve anything either...
My thoughts as well. You want to look into LTL, because LTL companies are typically going to be the highest paying in the industry.Well The whole point or reason for being OTR was to make more money. I am not sure what the leaders of trucking companies think the appeal is of being OTR is. I damned sure ain't for the good of my health.
The money is gone. I will soon be gone from this OTR rackette.
I may as well be home if NOW I can make better money and be home at night.
Nope! I want to look into punching in everyday and then leaving it all behind at night an d going home.My thoughts as well. You want to look into LTL, because LTL companies are typically going to be the highest paying in the industry.
I spent the last year looking at OTR companies that can match what I make driving a daycab. Nobody comes close.
You and me both. I started out with DHL. Stayed with them for about 8 years. When they closed I went OTR. After 2 years of OTR I had enough of that pile of shenanigans.Nope! I want to look into punching in everyday and then leaving it all behind at night an d going home.
The odd thing is I started out my trucking career as a local driver that went OTR.
