Some residents in Spokane Valley, Wash., are urging city officials to adopt an ordinance banning truck parking on residential streets. Spokane Valley Mayor Dean Grafos is urging the public to weigh in on the truck parking issue before its next council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
A similar proposal was introduced in Spokane Valley two years ago, but that effort failed. However, at that time, the city council did pass a ban restricting refrigerated trucks from idling for more than 15 consecutive minutes, or for more than 15 minutes total in a single day, in residential areas.
