Rules For Posting On Our Forum
The goal of The Truckers Forum is to provide a friendly and informative place for people to share info, meet fellow truck drivers, help each other with trucking related issues, post personal experiences and spend some time with like-minded people. Our forum is intended to reflect our passion for trucking, that is why it exists. Please respect your fellow Truckers Forum members online just as you would if you were talking to them at a truck stop.

While you are our guest we ask that you adhere to our Community Rules:

  • Registration
Registration requires a valid email account. You may only have one account registered. Any account created for the purpose of attempting to advertise or solicit on this forum without permission from an Administrator is subject to immediate removal. This removal may result in your email address being sent to a spam list used by thousands of websites to prevent unwanted SPAM.
  • Be Courteous!
We aim to ensure that the forum is an enjoyable place that you want to visit time and time again. Treating each other with respect and kindness, and thinking before you speak will go a long way towards making this an enjoyable place. We take the "be nice" rule very seriously.Do not engage in personal attacks on public or private individuals or entities in posts or via the PM system. Do not post libelous remarks or directly misleading information.
    • Personal Attacks on other members
Under no circumstances will we allow members to attack each other on the forums. Some topics of conversation on our forum may get heated, but at no time will you resort into attacking any member in the discussion. Focus on the topic, not the member making the posts. Situations such as calling members names due to their political beliefs clearly falls under this rule, and there will be zero tolerance for this.
    • Race, Religion, Ethnicity, and Gender
At no time will we allow any of these to be degraded. Serious or joking, this will not be tolerated. While we understand that there can and will be many threads relating to these topics, all posts must be made respectfully during the discussion.
  • Be Appropriate!
Posts containing offensive, explicit, sexual, obscene or vulgar language, images or links to websites with adult content/images or punctuation marks designed to "trick" our obscenity filter may be removed and your account may be terminated if we deem it necessary. Not only do we not want our members seeing this sort of content, our advertisers will not allow it. Without advertisers, we have no website, therefore we must be strict about this.
  • Be Especially Respectful of posts by new members
When a new member posts a question or comment on the forum, if you have nothing supportive to offer, do not post. It takes a lot of time for a new member to build up the courage to post in a new forum, and it only takes seconds for an insulting comment to run them off. It may sound stupid to you, but if they weren't looking for help, they wouldn't be asking the question.
  • Do Not Post Violent Content
Violent content includes content that contains graphic or gory images/videos such as bloodshed, fight scenes, and gruesome or freak accidents.
  • Be Ethical and Don't SPAM!
Many participants have commercial interests associated with the forum topic and bring valuable information and expertise to share but participants may not use the Forum for commercial gain. Participants may not post affiliate links or links to direct others to any pages at their own website or website in which they have a commercial interest, including informational pages. Do not use posts to promote your blogs, videos, or any other website you may own or be associated with unless you have permission from one of our administrators. Participants may not send out SPAM via our Personal Conversation system. Our user base is not an unlimited resource to be "mined" by individuals, groups, or businesses, for profit or not for profit. If you want to solicit the board for information when writing a book, article, or conducting a survey, please ask a moderator or administrator first. We require all businesses to keep their business related postings within our vendor section.
  • Do Not Post Protected / Copyrighted Content
Information copyrighted or owned by any individual or entity other than the member should not be posted without the consent of the owner. Copyrighted material includes images and text produced and owned by others. If such an event occurs, the individual posting the information shall be held solely responsible. You cannot legally post entire articles, images or news without permission from the copyright holder. Even if you attribute the content correctly it’s still copyright infringement. Under Fair Use provisions you can legally post a small abstract of an article - or perhaps the opening paragraph. The exception to this rule is press releases; they are meant for distribution and can be copied and distributed. If you are not sure if you can copy something then always err on the side of caution and simply post a link to the material.
  • Politics Forum
This forum is for the purpose of creating politics specific threads. Threads that are not intended for political discussion will be deleted. Continued posting of threads that we do not deem politically related can result in your account being suspended or terminated (banned).
Regarding Vendors/Advertisers

  • Vendors, Recruiters, Brokers, Sales, Etc...
We have set up an area for vendors and classifieds. All threads and posts created with the nature of advertising, recruiting, or selling must be contain within the area we have provided.
  • Vendor and Customer Disputes
This forum is not intended to be a mechanism for people to vent frustrations about vendors or sales from private parties. Please settle your differences with the seller, manufacturer and dealer through the long-established legal or arbitration systems or the Better Business Bureau but not through our community. Trolling, cyber-bullying, harassment, stalking or predatory behavior is NOT allowed in posts, PM's or any other section of our forum and is grounds for account restriction or banishment.
Site Management and Member Concerns:
If we feel site rules are violated we may remove, edit or delete posts and if necessary ban or restrict account access. Any abuse toward our administrators or moderators may result in immediate suspension of your account.
  • Complaints about a moderator's decision regarding a particular post are not to be made in posts; instead send a private message to a moderator or administrator. If a moderator deletes or edits one of your posts and you disagree with the action, contact the moderator concerned or any other member of our site team.
  • Do not repost deleted material.
  • This forum is largely self-policing, which means that moderators will respond and react to problems reported through the REPORT POST option, via the CONTACT FORM at the bottom of each page, or via PM. Do not hesitate to use these tools to report any problems regarding the forum.
Account Management
Requests for changes to your account should be made by using the Contact Us link at the bottom of every forum page. Participants may only have one account. Moderators may consolidate or delete multiple accounts.

These terms may be changed at any time without notice.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not register or use the Service. Use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you wish to close your account, please contact us.

Warnings/Points: What they mean
To assist with our forum moderation, we are now using a warning and points system. When you receive a warning for a forum violation, it will last for a period of days and consist of a specific number of points. We are fine tuning this as we go, but the point threshold for an account ban is currently 4 points. If you reach a total of 4 points, your account will be immediately banned by the system, and will remain banned until enough points fall off that you are below this number. Automatic bans may also be given if a moderator feels like the offense justifies it, but we expect the points system to automatically handle this.

You will be alerted anytime you receive a warning, and will always be able to be aware of your current points.

The terms and rules of the forum have been updated as of today, 02/21/2019.

If you have read them before, they may seem the same, but it is important to realize that there have been some subtle and important changes.

Before posting any further on the forum, be sure that you have thoroughly read the "rules for posting on the forum" section. The rules are pretty simple and straight forward. From this point forward, members purposely violating the rules just to see how far they can push will be given temporary, and possibly permanent bans from the forum.

Political Posts
One difference you will note is the change toward political comments within posts. We will no longer disallow political posts in threads outside of the politics forum. While this is a welcome change for some, it is important to also realize that we will not allow political trolling of the forum. If you are continually taking threads into a political direction, you will be notified. Continued trolling (as the moderators define as trolling) can result in account suspensions (bans). We do not want this to become an overly political forum outside of the politics specific forum we have provided for you.

Politics Forum
Be sure to note in the rules where we clearly expect this forum to be used for the creation and discussion of political topics. We do not want, and will not allow non political nonsense threads in this forum. This is also not a place to simply posts links to websites. If you are going to create a thread, it is fine that you link to another website, but have your own discussion to support it. Threads that are nothing more than link postings may be deleted.

Finally, pay serious attention to our "Be Courteous" policy and our policies toward Race, Ethnicity, Religion, and Gender. Insults and attacks regarding these topics will not be tolerated.

I want everyone to understand that, going forward, if you are here to simply troll the forum and start trouble, we will have zero tolerance toward it.

I am leaving this open for a short period in case anybody has any questions. While all of this may sound minimal, it is a pretty significant shift from where we have been in some areas.

Updated to add our warning/points system.
