Eight women have now successfully completed the Combat Endurance Test (CET) at the Marine Corps Infantry Officer Course (IOC), the Basic School commander told the Defense Advisory Council on Women in the Services, Sept. 13. Colonel Mark Clingan said the CET is a screening tool used to weed out officers who are not likely to pass the course. However, none of the eight women who passed the CET graduated IOC.
Marines' requirements for infantry officers are unrealistic, Army colonel says
Army boy goes on to talk down about the physical requirements of the course. Army boy seems to not understand how an officer should never give an order than he isn't willing and able to carry out him(her)self. Army boy needs to go back to his Army and leave my beloved Marine Corps the hell alone. But, he won't. And soon, more will start buying into this type of thinking.
You know, I can handle the fact that the worthless commissioner of the NFL decided to remove the physical contact out of that sport. It's no big deal because it's just a freaking game. Adjust it to the point where women can compete in that sport with men, it doesn't matter.
Leave the Marine Corps alone. Leave the military alone. Let women into every area of the military, but don't change things because it seems too tough for them.
The day is coming where we will be back at war again. A war like this generation has only briefly read about in the history books.
A war where you just may have to grab your pack, the pack of the guy who just got his leg blown off, that guy, and hump it 9.3 miles and a clip a little faster than than 3mph in order to live to fight another day. The two of you will need the contents of both of those packs because it might be a while before support can get in with another round of supplies.
Or, since carrying 150 pounds on a hump is just too much to ask, according to Army Boy, I guess you can just grab your pack and say a quick prayer for the guy you just left there on the ground bleeding. At least he will have a canteen of water with him in that pack you couldn't carry.
