Switching transmissions

The Issue-
Buying a 2007 M2-112 Freightliner with a C13 /Eaton 13 speed. I live beside the rocky mountains, need this kind of rig to pull a 44 foot RV and not spend 80% of my time with the flashers on.
I am a Veteran have trouble with my clutch leg so am trying to see if there is anyway possible to switch out the old manual Eaton for a new A newer autoshift 13 or 18 speed.
I realize I will need the TCM just not sure what else I may be getting myself into. So any help would be appreciated.

I know its been discussed on this or other boards before but I want to delve deeper. I have put numerous 6 speed transmission behind an LS3 engine that should not have worked together. How they ended up working is manufacturers like TCI have created a module that you plug into the transmission and you can select shift points based on your wants and needs.
Although it appears rather scientific really all you are doing is selecting by RPMs, something provided by the transmission as VS1/2 signals. You then send a signal to a specific pin from the module to the transmission in the same harness and it up shifts or downshifts based on what you have set as acceptable Ranges.

So what I am trying to do is use a Newer Eaton behind an old C13. Now I know there is an easier way but from what I have read and continue to read DEF/DCF is just such a pain in the ass that if you can avoid it, you should. I am not a trucker per se, I am a RVist who just cannot justify spending $100,000 on a Dodge Dually or Ford that spends half its life sounding like its going to come through the hood.

By the way I get the look of insanity from every big truck dealership I talk too. So many "technicians" that do nothing but read computer codes for a living and not wrench heads who get er done, say changing a tranny is a death knell that its driving me nuts! You literally only have to capture 3 or 4 signals coming from the TCM to do this "impossible job" and I wonder why, its not been done before.

There should be no reason why there is not a plug in module today for a TCM tranny combo that would take over from the obviously not programmable ECU that no one wants to touch?

This thread was carried over from my Introduction thread.

I guess thats what I am getting at. It was not cost effective to reprogram the LS3 ECU, build new wiring harnesses integrate non compatible modules either. So a company (TCI) just produced a module you plugged into the TCM and it became your new ECU command module.
So I think the reason why its not cost effective is people have approached it as GM does.....too expensive.

You essentially have to take all the crap out of one vehicle to move it into another vehicle.

Why not just operate the new vehicle.

Dude. Go do it. You obviously know WHAT needs to be done.

Go start your search for a donor vehicle for all the components and have at it.

I think your best bet is to learn how to float so you only need the clutch at stops. If that's still too much on your leg, I think fabricating an air assist for the clutch would be a much easier task than what you're proposing.

In your introduction R3g explained what you would need to do. He knows what he's talking about more than any of us when it comes to this. Before he decided to drive a truck he fixed them.
