The California Trucking Association’s request has been denied by the Supreme Court, so AB5 stands.

This will effectively soon put an end to owner operators being able to lease their equipment to a carrier, as well as put an end to any lease purchase programs for companies or drivers based in California.

The Biden administration has already been working to address this at a national level using AB5 as a standard to address this nationwide.

Be prepared, this is going to have an impact on lots of drivers and lots of companies.

I want to also add that while I don’t like what California is doing at all here, I 100% agree with the decision of the Supreme Court to not take this up.

It’s a state decision, and leaving state decisions to the state is fine with me.

Now, if and when we see the federal version of this rolling out, I hope to see the Supreme Court standing up and ending it should it pass.

California, and any states that follow in their footsteps will only suffer from this, and that is how it should be. Let the states that do things right become more successful and let those who want to control their populations wither away until they change their course of action.

Arizona and Texas are more than happy to hire more construction workers to build more businesses that keep fleeing out of California.
