Sick as a dog

one...two...three.........but no more than four.........
I know all too well about having toothache.it's better to just pull it rather then keep getting toothache from the same tootbwhy pay over a couple thousand to try and save a tooth.my front teeth are nice and straight but I have a few back teeth missing.

i had a molar that kept cracking, and breaking. the dentist repaired it quite a few times. this last time, the crack was too long to be fixed, so i had the tooth pulled. when the specialist pulled it, it then broke in half, making his job tougher.

cost me over $235. to have it pulled.....

I'll add this.

Once you do a root canal, that tooth is dead. You'll be having a crown put onto it in the future or yanking it 10-15 years down the road.
Yeh, I love the doom "n gloom..

My mom had about four root canals done when she was in her late 20s. That was 40 years ago and she still has the teeth...in her mouth, firmly anchored in her jaw, right where the good lord put 'em.

A root canal is nothing more than a deep filling. Sometimes, a crown is needed. Sometimes, it's not. It depends on the integrity of the tooth structure itself.

That's nothing a chicklet wont fix.

Did you miss the part where @Duck said it's a front tooth?

I guess I'm in the "try to keep your teeth if at all possible" camp. But then, I spent over $7K for braces and filling replacements over the last four years. I'm still working on getting rid of the rest of my amalgam fillings. Replacing them with resin. The difference, besides color, is amalgam swells over time and pushes the tooth apart, while resin bonds with the tooth and pulls it together. I have all but four of my original adult teeth still in my mouth. My wisdom teeth are in my jewelry box at home.

I'd rather he just yank the tooth to be honest. I can still open soup cans with my other one.

I'd still prefer to just wait until they all fall out & get a complete set of false teeth. I've gone my whole life looking like a beaver because my parents couldn't pay for braces when I was a kid.

But my mom insists I get the root canal & crown thing done.

"Yap yap yap yap nag nag nag nag...."

Yours getting up there in age might as well just pull the dam thing and if you're too cheap to have it pulled professionally I'm sure one of your neighbor's will do it for free.

I figured it would just get loose & start wiggling & fall out like my baby teeth did but the dentist said it's different with adult teeth. :dunno:
