The Indiana Department of Transportation has laid out its plans for a massive reconstruction of Interstate 70, which is set to begin this week.

The project, dubbed “Super 70,” will see the reconstruction of I-70 from the east side of Indianapolis to the north split in downtown, and is expected to continue through the end of the year.

The state’s DOT said in a statement this week that drivers can expect to see two-way traffic in the eastbound lanes as the westbound lanes are closed. Westbound on-off ramps at Keystone and Emerson Avenues in Indianapolis will also be closed.

When complete, the $175-million project will include 75 miles of new pavement, 28 new bridge deck (the top surface) and a new overpass at Sherman Drive in Indianapolis, according to a press release.
