Remember when the trucking industry had a good reputation out on the highway? It's doubtful because I have been at this for just short of 30 years now and I am pretty sure I caught the very tail end of that era. Being attracted to the industry since I as a young kid, it feels like I lived more of it than I actually did.

If only for a brief period, some of that came back during the Covid pandemic. I would like to think we could keep it, but what I see out of the road these days tells me otherwise. Here is a piece of an article from Fleetowner discussing it.

Over the course of the pandemic, professional commercial drivers were lauded for keeping shelves stocked and delivering essential medical supplies, including the COVID-19 vaccine. Now, the industry is tasked with upholding that image.
