TACOMA, Wash. — Interstate Distributor Co. and McCoy Freightliner have entered into a multi-year agreement to replace IDC’s fleet of older tractors with 1,200 new Freightliner Cascadias. The first group of tractors will arrive in late August, the 12th largest U.S. truckload carrier said.
Tractors will be designed to create a working environment of the highest quality for IDC’s company drivers. The tractors will be equipped with the latest in “green” fuel efficient technology.
This state-of-the-art equipment will allow Interstate to provide consistently superior service using technology that will minimize the impact on the environment and maintain a competitive advantage for itself and for its customers, IDC said.
Interstate Distributor services include, local, regional and transcontinental coverage, specialized and refrigerated equipment, dedicated fleets, intermodal and logistics management services. With terminal and yard facilities located in all major markets throughout the United States, Western Canada and the Mexican border, IDC currently has more than 2,500 employees.
