Economic Impact Payments - IRS Stimulus money

People are starting to receive payments via direct deposit this week. The first to get money will be people that tend to get refunds and have direct deposit set up with the IRS. If you don't have direct deposit set up with the IRS, you will be able to set up direct deposit in the next few days by visiting this website:

If you choose to not set up direct deposit, checks will begin to be mailed out sometime in May, and the IRS has the ability to mail out about 5 Million checks per month, so that could take a while. If it were me, I would get direct deposit set up as soon as the link is available. I will be checking and update as soon as I notice it since I don't currently have direct deposit set up because I pay them at the last minute every year.

****ers got my check wrong missed a dependant musta gone off of 2018 even though 2019 was filed 2 days after opening

Dig around the link in the first post, there is info to contact the IRS if you didn't receive money. Plan on long hold times.....

so apparently on the irs website i suppose i will have to wait till then.... Told my buddy im less of a socialist because i got less :rolllaugh: this was under the FAQ
For security reasons, the IRS plans to mail a letter about the economic impact payment to the taxpayer’s last known address within 15 days after the payment is paid. The letter will provide information on how the payment was made and how to report any failure to receive the payment. If a taxpayer is unsure they’re receiving a legitimate letter, the IRS urges taxpayers to visit IRS.gov first to protect against scam artists

The link is up and available, but in my case, I apparently don't exist or something. I enter my information and it acts as though it doesn't know who I am, so I can't even get to the area where I would enter my direct deposit information.

I think it has something to do with the way we file as sole proprietors. If we were paying payroll tax, you know we'd be right in there.

If you haven't been able to enter your account information for direct deposit, now might be a good time to try again. I went to the link today and it finally let me through to enter everything. Besides you routing and account numbers for direct deposit, it will ask for your adjusted gross income, and the amount you owed or were refunded on your tax return.

my mother in law got here 2 weeks ago
my wife and I got ours today, direct deposit

My dad got his.

A paper check for $2400 addressed to him and my mom, who died last June and we already canceled her social security and their joint accounts.

He dunno what to do. He's only "entitled" to $1200.

:dunno:

There will likely be something addressing this when taxes get filed for this year.

Being based on 2019 taxes, though, I doubt it will have to be paid back.
