Truckers Health Diet during a Covid pandemic, and at any other time. What you really need to know!

2 gallons a day and you're still high on salt? 😳

Do you just hook up a catheter into an empty 5 gallon gas can so you can go down the road? 😳
Doctor wants to do some kind of a sodium tests

Compare the urine sodium to the blood sodium.

The dog helps get me out of the cab every 2 hours or so.

Gluttony is a first world reality
And that's why I will question some of these new contemporary findings.

We are one of the fattest nation's in the world with one of the worst dietary habits in the Western diet NB so I am not at all surprised by "new found" findings.

The sad thing is we began growing to the fattest nation in the country once we were given failed information on the diet we should follow.

And now they're putting fatass lardbutt women in clothing ads on TV instead of supermodels. Glorifying lardassedness as if it's something to be proud of.

They've invented terms like "fat shaming" as if it's a bad thing to encourage better eating habits.

Pretty soon they'll have an "ist" or a "phobe" word to go with it.

I'm not gonna degrade women who are overweight, especially when I need to lose weight myself.

Not talking about adolescent boys pointing and laughing at the fat chicks in their classes at school. I'm talking about people simply encouraging good eating habits and talking about obesity like its a problem, and getting attacked for it by the people who call themselves "woke" and "politically correct".

Veering off topic though.

As much as we've heard the phrase "listen to the experts" this year, let's think about how many different nutrition models the government has come out with over the years.

Four food groups.
Food pyramid.
My Plate.gov...

On and on.

All of these programs had significant differences. They should tell anyone with half a brain that the "experts" don't have a clue.

The thing that gets me is the push to eat grains. We were never meant to eat this, and historically only ate it due to famines when nothing else was available.

It's one of the hardest things for our body to pass and would be impossible to properly digest without being highly processed before consumption.

It's nothing more than a cheap filler, and as far as I am concerned, causes far more harm than good.

When you give filler food to animals its called "silage".

Had i stayed back in New York I probably never would have learned that...

We were never intended to consume milk beyond our infancy either.

I read that the ability to tolerate lactose beyond infancy is actually a genetic mutation that only humans possess. I've seen cats drink milk and dogs eat cheese and butter. I've also heard it upsets their stomachs. :dunno:

My dairy intake is limited to grass fed butter in my coffee, rather than cream.

The low fat/high carb nonsense the gubbermint started pushing 30 years ago is what got us to this obese mess in the first place. Along with all that instant packaged junk food with lying labels like "Healthy Choice" - which it certainly isn't.

Correct.

The food industry in this country is on the level of say, Monsanto. Its good that people are waking up to it. It's also one of the areas the EU has a better handle on.

Ohh they have a clue and the color of it is green. No not green leafy veggies.

That s why I say we have to do our homework and research and learn what's good for our bodies ourselves.

Otherwise we could sue the government Doctors and nutritionist for making us fat or giving us hypertension.

We can't blame anyone but ourselves.

I'm trying not to laugh here.

But fruits nuts and grains were part of the original diet.

You do know that corn beans and wheat are considered grains right?
I know this stuff pretty well, so not sure why you would be wanting to laugh.

Fruits and nuts were part of the original diet, when they were available. Originally, you wouldn't be eatin either year around.

Grains? not so much. Grain was introduced as a filler to keep people alive during famines. Again, does more harm than good.

And yes, I do know what is and isn't a grain.

Fruits and nuts yes, as they are naturally occurring.

Mostly, grains need to be cultivated.

Also, modern, mass farmed grains are far from their genetic predecessors and have dubious nutritional value.

Mostly, grains need to be cultivated.

And if that has to happen, I don't think we need to be eating much of it.

Corn has some good nutrients. Good source of Potassium and Magnesium (the two things this dumb trucker knows goes hand in hand with sodium intake).

Problem is, you are ultimately getting as much sugar from it as eating a snickers bar. Which is fine if you are subscribing to a low fat and high carb diet, just know those carbs burn up fast and you will be wanting to eat alot more.

This is what brings on the frustration with so many who battler to stay thin. They eat like they are told, workout like maniacs, but still fight weight gain.

I don't know the truth on this, but I hear women tend to have the hardest time converting away from the old standard diet into a diet with higher fat content because many have avoided fat like it is a disease for so long that their bodies struggle to become fat adaptive again, like it was intended to be all along.
