Current Events forum added, Politics moved into the subforum area of the layover tavern.

After lots of thought, and few long discussions in recent months with the moderators, we are moving the politics forum into public view.

A few rules have been made clear with the moderators, and these rules will be strictly enforced throughout the forum.

• Political topics are to only be discussed within the politics forum. Anything political debates/comments taking place outside of that forum will be removed (not moved, but removed), and repeated actions can result in the suspension of member accounts. We are taking this seriously out of respect for the majority of forum members/visitors who do not want to take part in politics and do not want to see threads littered with political discussion.
  
• The political forum is not a free for all. If you cannot respect the opinions of others, it is best that you do not participate in that forum. We realize that some topics will get heated, but there will be no attacks/insults on members for their political beliefs. We also do not need constant bashing of politicians. Debate their decisions and comments, but lets be adults regarding the conversation.

Those are two very clear rules, and they have to be due to the nature of the conversation that takes place in the politics area. I will not have our members divided and turning against each other all throughout the forum simply so we can have a politics forum. If the politics forum gets out of control, it will be permanently shut down. This is not something I want to do, but something I will do in order to ensure the future of this community.

Our current events forum is just that, an forum for current events. Lots of big things that are not political in nature going on, and this is the place to discuss them. This is not a place to post links to things that are going on, it is a place to start discussions of current events. Posts that are simply links to other sites, with no serious discussion accompanying it will be deleted.
