An "owner operator" for one of the mega fleets pulled into the fuel island next to me, and not only left the truck running for the entire time they were fueling and while they were in the c-store for 20 minutes or so, but set it on high idle.
And the truck had those airtab things all over it. Chrome plated air tabs.
Guess they saved so much fuel with those things that they can afford the fuel for 45 minutes of fast idle time.
Gotta get me some of them things.
Actually, running at higher speeds increases your chances for accidents more so than being on the road longer. I really don't care what anyone else does with their money, but I can use an extra $10,000.00 per year. It has paid for a truck, trailer, tires and many cups of Starbuck's Coffee!

Yah, makes you wonder if they ever shut the truck off to check the oil or anything else under the hood. If it's still running then everything must be hunky dorrie......RIGHT?????
From what I know about air tabs, they're supposed to be placed on the trailing edge the trailer ie the door frame of the trailer and the cab extender of the truck and accrossed the back edge of cab roof, NOT all over the truck and trailer.

Shiny.
It would have been much easier to compute the difference on 130,000 miles per year average, divided by your 7 mpg, times $3.59 average cost of fuel per gallon. You can plug in different numbers reflecting the way you run, your mpg and the cost of fue in your area.
I think your mileage is very high in your example. I know I don't run that hard. 130,000 is high for me right now. Most drivers will tell you they run 110,000 to 130,000 miles per year.
I, generally I round, using $5,000.00 savings per .5 mpg at a 7 mpg and a 6 mpg. truck This number is skewed the worse your fuel mileage is. But, it is a number easily remembered.
As you should. I'm not sure what has your panties in a wad, but what I get out of York chart is, the better your mpg the more money you save. That can be a significant amount. Slowing down is one lge the best ways to increase your mpg and for me, as an owner operator, the best way to increase my net revenue.
May I ask what you do the other 34.05% of the time?
Where did you get that picture of me rippin' in the Mohave?
Bad link. But if its the one for the fuel temp yes it works. Some claim up to 40 more horses but mine was 24 more per the dyno. If there asking more than $35 dollars for it for get it. There is a guy in Kansas thats makes them for $35 with free shipping.
Never mine.....the link works.........hes wanting to much for it.
Do you have the phone # for the guy in Kansas?
