Greatings Gentlemen,,,,,,, Auto Tranny Help,,,,,, please !!!
Got an auto Eaton Fuller, 2 pedal system on a 2015 Volvo vnl780. ,,, Turning the ignition key on,, the normal clicking sounds sequence leading to redying the engine up for firing, no longer begins, but the dashboard display lights light up, and the engine fires up normally. ,,,, the tranny, however, shows only the Red Service Light on the shift pad ,,, no other signs of life in the transmission shift pad ,, all buttons are dim except the red service button ,, it is on continuously....
Attempts to get a diagnostic code from the dash display fail. ,,, I can get readings on all systems,, all control units except the tranny. ,,, Even the position display is blank,,,,, and I only get ""DATA TRANSFER IN PROGRESS"" ,,, followed by "OPERATION FAILED" ,,,,,, in other words, it looks like the tranny is invisible with the exception of the Red Service Light in the shift pad by the seat to the right.
The Volvo dealer,, TEC EQUIPMENT, Portland, OR ,,, did what TEC EQUIPMENT does by giving me an initial estimate of 10 hour diagnostic fee for taking the tranny down + the usual add ons and any additional fees for unforeseen reasons to prolong the 10-hour diagnosis. ,,,,,, Independent shop laughed and scoffed it, and said it was a simple half hour job for a common problem with Volvos,, but of course they wanted me to have the truck towed to them.
I checked all fuses, disconnected the batteries, waited a whole hour,, reconnected. Nothing happened. The tranny is still invisible to the truck computer.
