Diesel fuel prices for the week ending Monday, Feb. 26, increased for the fourth straight week, the U.S. Department of Energy reported. The U.S. average climbed by 6 cents, topping out at $2.551, an 8-cent increase over the same week one year ago.

Every region saw a price increase; the largest price hikes were in the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions, with both seeing a nearly 8-cent surge; the West Coast experienced the smallest increase, less than a penny.

The highest diesel prices were in the West Coast and New England regions; the West Coast averaged $2.79 and the New England region averaged $2.65. The nation’s lowest prices were in the Lower Atlantic and Gulf Coast regions, recording averages of $2.483 and $2.497, respectively.

Truckers in California, which DOE tracks separately, continue to pay the nation's highest prices for diesel, shelling out an average of $2.911 per gallon.

Its like a roller coster ride. fuel prices dropped for 6 weeks straight, not they climb right back up.
