FMCSA Has A New Deputy Administrator

With the departure of Jim Mullen at the end of August, the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) announces James “Wiley” Deck as it’s third Acting Deputy Secretary in less than a year. Deck has been serving as Director of Government Affairs for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.  He serves as the principal advisor to FMCSA leadership on all aspects of legislative affairs, Congressional relations, and policy matters affecting Federal, State, and local government.

With a Federal career that spans back to 1994, Deck served on the staff of Congressman John L. Mica (FL) for more than 23 years. During this span, Deck held a series of positions with progressively increasing responsibility culminating with six years as the Chief of Staff. Before joining the FMCSA, Deck also served as the Director of Oversight and Investigations for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
